So Here I am in 2013 and Where Do Things Stand?
The aerophagia, being intrinsic, has been with me each and every day since around September 1996. It has never wavered for even a single day although some days are much more extreme than others.
The lower gut symptoms, spray painting and cheesegrater, after a hiatus from 2007 to 2010, are back and are fairly intense. I never really came off my one meal a day diet, which I originally started in March 1997. Other than that and the impractical glucagon, I haven’t found any treatment for them.
The upper gut symptoms, which includes the bloating, have largely gone into remission, though I religiously vent the PEG before going to bed every night.
The pains are around the PEG site occur off and on. When they’re on, they’re intense. I have found no way to treat them.
But the burning throat is the big kahuna, being 24/7 in nature, and there is absolutely nothing to treat it.
I had daily thoughts of suicide.
And if it’s not one thing, it’s another, I noticed I was having episodes of diarrhea. This is similar to my very first symptom in 1993, which mostly cleared up on its own by 1997. The cause this time was different, though it wasn’t obvious until some years later.
However, something is about to change for the better.
